Pedagogical and Scholarly Resources for the Study of the New Testament

Collating For Dummies

May 20th, 2007 by Tony

Collating for Dummies is a tongue-in-cheek guide to manuscript research created in 2000 for a presentation on my graduate work. I have resurrected it a few times since to share with students, though likely much of it is now out-of-date. I no longer have the software used to create it; so I offer it here as low quality jpgs and a downloadable pdf.

    Dear Dr. Chartrand-Burke,
I am both a York University undergrad and a theology student at the University of St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto in the Master of Theological Studies programme. I particularly enjoyed reading your “Collating For Dummies.” The content was quite stimulating, not to mention very entertaining. The piece “opened my eyes” to the tremendous effort that scholars exert when analyzing various manuscripts. I look forward to learning from your expertise in the study of the New Testament as I am am taking your AK HUMA 3423: The New Testament Apocrypha course this year. See you in class!
